Tax Breakout - Support for Multiple Tax Types on Orders

We are excited to announce an enhancement to our Tax Breakout feature. This feature ensures more accurate tax calculations and proper categorization of different tax types, improving financial reconciliation and reporting.

What's New?

• Peoplevine now supports orders with a single defined tax type and multiple tax types per order ,such as Goods and Services Tax (GST) at 12%, and multiple tax types per order, such as:

o State Tax: 10%

o Alcohol Tax: 12%

• Enhanced breakdown of tax calculations within order details for transparency and accuracy.

• Improved compliance with regional tax regulations by itemizing different tax types.

Who Benefits?

• Finance Teams: More detailed reporting and correct allocation of tax amounts.

• Clients with Oracle Micros and Book4Time integrations: Seamless handling of multiple tax categories per order.

• Accounting & Compliance Teams: Ensures taxes are categorized properly for audits and tax filings.

How It Works

1. Orders from Oracle Micros or Book4Time are processed as usual.

2. Tax amounts are now itemized by type (e.g., State Tax, Alcohol Tax, Goods and Services Tax).

3. Breakout is reflected in orders and invoices, ensuring transparency in tax calculations.

Next Steps

• For clients to take advantage of this feature, they will have to upgrade to the Member Portal 3.0. Please reach out to info@peoplevine.com or your Account Managers to begin the process.

Global Taxes Support – Flexible Tax Handling for Any Region

We’re excited to introduce Global Taxes Support, a major enhancement that brings flexibility and accuracy to tax calculations across different regions. Whether your country follows tax-exclusive or tax-inclusive pricing, our system now adapts seamlessly to ensure compliance and clarity in your transactions.

What’s New?

• Support for Tax Groups & Rules – If you’re in a tax-inclusive region, prices will automatically include taxes. In tax-exclusive regions, taxes will be added on top at checkout.

• VAT Inclusive Price Display – For transactions and membership plans that are tax exempt, you can now enabled these rulein the Member App and in the (control panel)platform, giving you the ability to appropriately reflect taxes at individual level.

• Tax-Exempt Capabilities – Allows you to assign a 0% tax to ensure certain membership tiers are tax exempt.

• Seamless Regional Tax Handling – We’ve updated all pricing screens, including cart, checkout, and billing, to clearly display applicable taxes, whether they are included in the price or added separately.

This update ensures every transaction complies with local tax laws, improves transparency, and simplifies tax management for your business.

Important: This feature is available exclusively in Member App 3.0. If you’re using an older version, contact your Account Manager to upgrade.

Refund Credits on Member Accounts via Micros Simphony

We're excited to introduce a new capability in our integration with Micros Simphony that allows managers to issue refund credits directly to a member’s account. This feature is designed for situations where a check needs to be refunded after the end-of-day process, such as when a member is charged incorrectly.

How It Works:

Refund via POS:
When a refund is required, navigate to the POS and select Function → Void Transaction and select the reason for the Void Transaction. This will display a negative amount corresponding to the items added to the order.

Opera OHIP PMS Payments Update

An update to how Peoplevine processes payments issued from Opera OHIP PMS.

o enhance system capabilities and provide a smoother experience for our customers, we have refined the way Peoplevine identifies payments originating from the PMS.

What’s Changing?

• The Payment ID setting in the Opera OHIP PMS setup page within the Peoplevine Control Panel has been updated.

• Instead of using the payment method code, it now utilizes the associated transaction code for improved accuracy and consistency.

What You Need to Know

• On the release day, Peoplevine will automatically update all existing configurations for onboarded users - no action is required on your part.

Sync Order Feature – Enhanced Order Accuracy for Lightspeed K Series

We're excited to announce a new improvement on the orders screen: the “RE-Sync Order” feature. This enhancement ensures that when an order coming from Lightspeed K Series isn’t showing the correct items or totals, you can easily update it with a single click.

Key Benefits for You:

Accurate Order Details: Simply click the Re-Sync Order button to re-sync an order and automatically update missing items or miscalculated amounts.

Seamless Integration: The feature works with your existing Lightspeed K Series integration, ensuring that orders—whether processed today or on previous dates—reflect the correct information.

Enhanced Data Integrity: By pulling the most accurate order data directly from Lightspeed, the new process addresses issues like duplicate entries (for example, with special “happy hour” pricing) and other discrepancies.

Improved Reliability: This update adds an extra layer of safeguard for your orders, giving you peace of mind that your order details are always correct.

Process the Refund:
Assign the member to the order and simply add the necessary items and select any Peoplevine Tender Type. Instead of processing a refund to a payment on file, credits will be issued directly to the member's account. This approach is taken because the physical card is not available for a swipe at the time of the refund, and the payment processor is not allowing a refund if the physical card is not present.

Enhanced Finance Oversight:
By issuing a credit rather than a direct refund, the finance team gains better visibility into the transaction, allowing them to review the refund reason and void the refund if needed before it’s finalized.
